Another Beginning (circa April 1990)

Another beginning
Another poem
No more arguments
This one really hit home

Through all the spats
Through every tear
We made it last
If only for a year

It’s funny when you think about it
How we’ve always stuck together
I guess we should have realized
Nothing lasts forever

But why do we have to believe
That friendships aren’t so great
To make it past this “fallout”
Without it being too late?

We’ll always be best friends
Is what I’ve been trying to say
We just need another beginning
Each and every day
